4-Ingredient Peanut Butter Banana Ice (Printable version)

Dairy-free peanut butter banana frozen treat from four ingredients; blend for soft-serve or freeze for firmer scoops.

# What You'll Need:

→ Fruit

01 - 4 large ripe bananas, peeled and sliced

→ Nut Butter

02 - 1/3 cup creamy peanut butter

→ Sweetener

03 - 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup (optional: honey)

→ Flavor Enhancer

04 - 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

# How to Make:

01 - Arrange the sliced bananas in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze until completely solid, about 2 hours.
02 - Transfer the frozen banana slices, peanut butter, maple syrup, and vanilla extract to a food processor or high-powered blender. Blend until smooth and creamy, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed, about 2–4 minutes.
03 - If using chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or other mix-ins, fold them gently into the blended mixture now to distribute evenly.
04 - For soft-serve, serve immediately. For a firmer set, transfer the mixture to a freezer-safe loaf pan, smooth the top, cover, and freeze for an additional 1–2 hours.
05 - Scoop into bowls or cones and garnish with fresh fruit or a drizzle of melted chocolate as desired.

  • If the bananas aren&'t frozen rock-solid, the mixture turns slushy instead of creamy (I learned the hard way).
  • One day I discovered that scraping the bowl halfway through blending keeps things utterly lump-free.
03 -
  • Always peel and slice the bananas before freezing—they&'re impossible to cut once frozen solid.
